The Estate · Est. 1910

History in
the making

A legendary estate where more than a century of elegance, artistry, and celebration awaits your story.

A New Era Begins

A landmark estate, reimagined for love stories.

Set back nearly 1,000 feet from the road and approached over a winding bluestone drive lined with towering maples, Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury is a place where grandeur and history are woven into every detail. What began in 1910 as Dr. Ernest Fahnestock's Georgian country estate has become one of New Jersey's most distinguished settings for unforgettable celebrations.

Designed by architects Lewis Colt Albro and Harrie T. Lindeberg, the 25-room mansion was built at a cost of more than $200,000 — a testament to the artistry that still defines the property today.

Where beauty meets legacy.

Over the decades, Shadowbrook evolved into a celebrated destination for fine dining and elegant celebration. The Oak Room — with its beamed ceiling, paneled walls, and sweeping windows overlooking the gardens — remains its beating heart, home to a pergola and miniature lake that have witnessed countless first dances.

The showpiece foyer boasts a honeycombed wood ceiling brought back from an English castle, restored 11.5-foot antique doors, and a golden 32-light chandelier rescued from New York's Biltmore Hotel.
